  13. To get the web service schema, you should connect to this url: http://yourserver:8080/jasperserver/services/repository?wsdl a valid user name of JasperReports Server is required to access the url Giulio
  14. Try to create a new JDBC connection of type "NetBeans database JDBC connection", by specifing the one you setup in services. The error, anyway, seems to be driver specific, not sure why it happens. Giulio
  15. Currently there is not much documentation. It is something on which we are working on, but development took away much of our resources. The high level concepts to use Jaspersoft Studio are the same of iReport, so all the documentation available for iReport can be spent for Jaspersoft Studio, even if the UI and a few concepts (mostly about data adapters/data sources) are not exactly the same. Giulio
  16. Hi Srinivas, thanks for your post. Currently we are focusing on create a stable and complete version of Jaspersoft Studio. Our main scope is to provide a suitable application for end users (RCP version) and for java developer (IDE plugin). It is out of scope for now provide and maintain a list of dependencies to distribute Jaspersoft Studio as part of thirty parties products, both because it is expensive (the list is still strongly subject to changes) and not very useful for what we consider our main end users. On the other hand, if you would like to contribute to the Jaspersoft Studio project by creating and maintaining this list of dependencies, you are more than welcome on doing that. Thanks a lot Giulio
  17. Check the size of your textfield, especially if you are using a special font without a Font extension and trying to use this report on a different environment (i.e. from windows to Linux). If your value does not fit the size of the textfield, it will disappear. Giulio
  18. July 29, 2012 [toc] The iReport Designer Team is pleased to announce the new iReport Designer release: v4.7.0. iReport Designer is available as standalone application and as NetBeans plugin for NetBeans IDE 6.5.x and later. 19. Harfcorefs, I totally agree with you, and this sounds like a clear message about where the product should be strongly improved. You are right in particular about the fact that must be something that prevents errors like that. Today compatibility is managed by iReport, which allows users to generate code compatible with older versions of JR (compatibility mode). This is done adding inside iReport old JasperReport jrxml writers. But this should be done by JasperReports, not by iReport, and this is what we are trying to push with the JasperReports team. Giulio
  20. I think this issue still need some clarification. The issue is not related to JasperReports server, but is a attribute introduced in the jrxml by JasperReports. This new attribute (uuid) is specified for each element. If you are using an old version of JasperReports (<4.6), you need to set in iReport the compatibility mode. Otherwise you have to upgrade. Use the compatibility mode still fails in case of component based elements (table, lists). I would finally make clear that this is not a bug, simply JasperReports does not assure an old version of the library to work with a newer report format. In terms of migration (4.5 to 4.6), this should not be a problem, JasperReports assures an old version of a report to work with a newer version of the library. Giulio
  21. Hi Mynameisjoel, this is a bug tracker to submit bugs, you should post your question on the JasperReports forum. In general the idea of back button is not part of the drilldown logic and its implementation really depends by how the reports are written, which are the input parameters and if the drilldown path is fixed or not. It is not clear from your question then if you are referring to the back button of the browser or to a back link inside the report, i.e. drilldown can be implemented in any application and using PDF reports. Thanks Giulio
  22. I'm moving the request to the JasperReports Server forum. Thanks giulio
  23. Jrxml produced with newer versions of the library are not declared to be compatible with older versions of JR (even if you can use newer version of the library with old reports). This is clearly stated in the JasperReports documentation, but more than that this is the only way to be able to improve the library and the designer, see? We are aware that some time this such of improvements may cause troubles. This was the case when we removed the "class" attribute to the expressions. But how easier is for someone new don't have to think about specify a java type for an expressions (especially if this person does not even know what a java type is...). We do our best to keep iReport and JasperReports versions in sync. iReport 4.6.0 comes with JasperReports 4.6.0. If you are using an older version of JasperReports, you should use an older version of iReport to be 100% sure you will not break your jrxmls (and by the way to produce valid jasper files), or either a newer version of JasperReports (or JasperReports Server, if available). Anyway, you should be able to easily fix the problem by stripping out the uuid attributes from your jrxmls. Thanks Giulio
  24. You can create a simple java app and use java.dll to run it and show the viewer. Recompile the code in c# is not a good idea, there may be some licenses issues and the numer of depemndencies is very huge. Anyway moving the post to the JasperReports forum. Thanks Giulio
