Giulio Toffoli
In the directory eclipse/com.jaspersoft.ireport.eclipse there are only the source files. You can install iReport in two ways: 1. From http://www.jasperforge.org/update as shown in the flash video 2. From <ireport_home>/eclipse/com.jaspersoft.ireport.eclipse.update, using this location as "local site" Before run the plugin, be sure iReport 1.2.6 is installed on your machine. You have to start it at least once in order to be able to use it inside Eclipse. If you still have some problems, let me know. Giulio

Giulio Toffoli
What happen if you run iReport as standalone application? What it takes a lot of time to start is the RMI server used exchange messages between iReport and Eclipse. - Try to run iReport is standalone mode,- go in the options window and enable the RMI server- Close and start iReport again,- then start Eclipse and see if in this way Eclipse works better. Let me know, I would try to make the plugin something of really useful to use... not a pain.. Thanks Giulio
unix1982
Hi, I have the same Problems, and I've made that what you have writed, but it does not work. I don't know what the other (mcombi and dgmanu) use for a OS. I use Linux (Ubuntu) it is possible that is there the cause of the Problems? (I don't think, but is to consider all) Greez Heinz
mcombi
Hi,I use winxp professional, but my eclipse is a copy taken from one of mine colleagues. tortois
Hello, my 5 cents to the topic... installed... no problem. when used with eclipse 3.2... works like a charm. when used with eclipse 3.1... ireport starts up but eclipse itself waits and then after a minute or so times out with "ireport is taking too much time to start...try later" message. It would be great if this plugin could be used with eclipse 3.1. HTH,tortois

mcombi
I think that my problem was due to my old eclipse installation. When I update eclipse to 3.2.2 I start from zero and the installation from update site works well.I think that there's some plugins which create some problems with the update manager (because now I have the same problem....I can't run the update...)but i don't know which one. alanitax
Hi I'm trying to install iReport 1.3.3 and eclipse plugin, but i can't. I use eclipse 3.2.2, iReport 1.3.3 and iReport Plugin 1.0, JVM 1.4.2 When I execute iReports alone, it works fine, but when I try to use the eclipse plugin the following error appears "iReports is taking to much time to start...retry later" I've tried a lot of things that i found in the forum, like- uncheck the iReport update in iReports -> options- Enable the RMI server, but when I do this, and restart iReports, the following error appears: java.rmi.StubNotFoundException: Stub class not found:it.businesslogic.ireport.rmi.IReportServerImpl_Stub;nested exception is:java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:it.businesslogic.ireport.rmi.IReportServerImpl_Stub...- I tried to update the iReport version, from 1.3.3 to 2.0 but appears:Exception in thread "main"java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError:org/jdesktop/swingx/JXTable (Unsupported major.minor version 49.0) Anyone can help me? Thanks in advance Alana
zgeorge23
Removing the feature and plugin from the eclipse (I am using Eclipse Europa) installation and creating a local site pointing back to the iReport installation's eclipse update site did the trick. (Enabling RMI server; reinstalling iReport; messing around with the .iReport dir on windows - none of this fixed the issue). --Zac George
