No Layouts in jasper report

I needed to hide and show some of my columns, thing that i realize impossible using jasper report

because Element have a static X, so there will be always a empty box instead that adjacent element take the place of invisible element

it s a huge problem that layout are only used by the editor not at runtime to position elements in a flexible way.

Can jasper provide more flixible way to positioning elements? there is a way to do this way that i'm ignoring?

Big thanks.

Hi,

Table element supports hiding columns and the rest of columns positions are  automatically adjusted.

Hope, it helps.

Best regards,
Andrew

@Andrew... is the "Hiding Columns" Feature of the table component available in community edition? When I remember right, this was a ProFeature in former JR-Editions????

It's possible in the community edition.

Check the following thread. It's basically setting Print When Expression on a table column. Select the column and "Cell" in properties. Set the "Print When Expression"
