the one that you want to do is: create a field then set this as prompt so the user may input his/her variable everytime then use this formula: set the two to double not integer in case of deciaml. then set to display 2 decimal places. new Double($F{field1}).doubleValue * new Double($F{field2}).doubleValue - this is your varialbe then formulathen set the variable calculation to nothing.
