1. I am having the same issue when switching to 6.11.0. Sorry no help, but would like to see a solution.
2. Attempting to update 6.0.1 to 6.0.3 on Yosemite 10.10.2 and get this error An error occurred while installing the items session context was:(profile=DefaultProfile, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Install, operand=null --> [R]com.jaspersoft.studio.rcp.product.executable.cocoa.macosx.x86_64 6.0.3.final, action=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.touchpoint.natives.actions.ChmodAction). The action chmod failed - file /Applications/TIBCO Jaspersoft Studio 6.0.1.final/Jaspersoft Studio.app/Contents/MacOS/Jaspersoft Studio does not exist
3. The problem went away when I modified the J2EE perspective. Unfortunately, I cannot remember exactly what changes I made.
4. By the workspace, you mean the metadata folder and the project? I have about a 16-18 projects in the workspace. How about if I create a new workspace, move the offending project into it, verify it still has the problem and send that workspace to you? EDITED: I have created the workspace but it is too large to send. I would like to send you privately the url to the zipped workspace on my Dropbox account. Can you provide me an email address to use?
5. I removed the JasperReport jar file from the project and changed the project to have JasperReports Nature. This corrected the errors in the project. I then quit and restarted. Tried opening an existing jrxml file and also tried a new report. Both attempts failed. Looking at the log file from Eclipse, the errors were similar to the previous but there were some additional errors that may be informative. I am including the entire log file as an attachment.
6. Changed Assigned User from @User_306070 to @anonymous Yes, I have one. However, if I remove the jasperreports jar from the classpath then my project will be filled with errors due to the missing jasperreports classes. How do you avoid that?
7. Updated to a clean Eclipse installation (Juno, Mac OSX, JavaEE IDE), installed JasperSoft Studio, re-imported all my projects into a new workspace. Using JasperReport 5.2.0. When I try to open an exisitng jrxml file, an empty tab is displayed. (Same error when I try to create a new report as well) The Eclipse log shows this... !ENTRY org.eclipse.osgi 2 1 2013-09-16 08:49:14.569!MESSAGE NLS unused message: ImageCreationDialog_bytes in: 8. For Juno 4.2 users like me, here is a link from the JasperReports people about installing & testing JasperStudio 1.3.1 http://sourceforge.net/projects/jasperstudio/files/DevelopersInfo/juno_42/
9. Created a new report and the design display was the same as a pre-existing one. That is, adding, for example, static text is invisible except for the outline.
10. I deleted the old version 1.1.2. Tried reinstalling 1.3.1 and got the dependency exception about apache.commons.pool. I installed that jar file into the plugins folder of Eclipse, restarted, and tried reinstalling 1.3.1. This time it installed without error. However, when I open a pre-existing report in design view, only the lines and outlines of text expressions show up. What's up with that?
11. I also had the same problem with Nebula Widgets. I installed them from the MarketPlace and tried updating to JasperStudio 1.31. Now I get the exception: An error occurred while installing the itemssession context was:(profile=epp.package.jee, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Install, operand=[R]com.jaspersoft.studio.data 1.1.2 --> [R]com.jaspersoft.studio.data 1.3.1, action=).Failed to prepare partial IU: [R]com.jaspersoft.studio.data 1.3.1. I am using Juno. Any ideas??
12. The answer to the problem was to add a GROUP footer to the detail band that prints after each detail line finishes. Then move the subreport into the GROUP footer. I tried for several hours trying to get the subreport to print within the detail band but could never get it to work as long as any of the fields above the report used STRETCH.
13. I have a report which uses a subreport in the detail band. It has worked well up until now. But business rules have changed and the text fields above the subreport in the detail band now need to allow stretching. When these attributes are added, the subreport no longer is displayed. There are no errors either in the console or in the debug log.The processing of the subreport happens without issue under both circumstances. Here are 2 code snippets. One works (the subreport is displayed) the other does not (the subreport is not displayed). Any suggestions? Code: Post Edited by mrobinson at 07/15/2011 21:35
14. I believe this is due to a bug I just posted about regarding stripping out of the class attribute in all the textFieldExpression elements. I think the only way around it is to go back to the older version.
15. Whenever I save a report using the new version of the Eclipse plug-in it strips out all of the class attributes in the textFeidlExpression elements. I hope it is something I am missing but I suspect now. Anyone else notice this? Code:BEFORE<textFieldExpression class="java.lang.String">"NOTES: " + $P{message}</textFieldExpression>AFTER<textFieldExpression >"NOTES: " + $P{message}</textFieldExpression>
16. Thanks. That's an interesting idea. My only question is how you use the line to push down the other textual parts of the summary? Or maybe you don't. That was my biggest issue of how to expand the summary such that it stretched all the way doen to the footer and the text was at the bottom and not the top. I did end up using the background band to add the lines with and it really worked well. In fact, it turned out even better than I had hoped for. This was due to the same point you brought up earlier, that the page header and group header will always print in the same positions as will the footer. Therefore, it was simple to add background lines and shading that made the invoice much more appealing visually. The one issue I could not solve was what I mentioned in the 1st paragraph...expanding the summary and pushing down the text. I did try your idea but it had no effect on size of the summary. Maybe I misunderstood what you were saying.
17. Thanks, that may be what I have to do. I still think there must be a way to have the Summary Band stretch to fill the space. I already use the Summary anyway to display some additional information that is variable. Of course, it stretches just fine in order to print all the text. I just want to to continue stretching to fill down to the footer. I will continue to play around and see if anything might work.
18. I need to be able to draw lines in the area between the last detail line and the start of the last page footer. Reason? customer want to have subtotal information of an Invoice at the bottom of the last page always. While this is not hard to do with the last page footer, there is a glariing space between the last detail item and the start of the footer. The question is how to bridge this gap with vertical lines so the data in the line items looks connected to the subtotal information. I have tried a summary band but have not been able to figure out how to get it to stretch to always fill the space between the two other bands. Has anyone run across a similar situation and found a way to do this?
19. The link you provide to the documentation is broken.
20. Sandra, Thanks for your help. That was indeed the problem. Can you point me to some reference as to how to create dynamic formulas? I saw your note on one of the earlier forum posts about using <propertyExpression /> instead of <property .../> but I cannot find any detailed info about this usage. Or could you provide a simple example? Thanks, Mike
21. I am exporting a report using JRXlsExporter and the following parameters xlsExporter.setParameter(JRXlsExporterParameter.JASPER_PRINT, fileName); xlsExporter.setParameter(JRXlsExporterParameter.OUTPUT_FILE_NAME, realReportPath); xlsExporter.setParameter(JRXlsExporterParameter.IS_ONE_PAGE_PER_SHEET, Boolean.FALSE); xlsExporter.setParameter(JRXlsExporterParameter.IS_REMOVE_EMPTY_SPACE_BETWEEN_ROWS, Boolean.TRUE); xlsExporter.setParameter(JRXlsExporterParameter.IS_REMOVE_EMPTY_SPACE_BETWEEN_COLUMNS, Boolean.TRUE); xlsExporter.setParameter(JRXlsExporterParameter.IS_DETECT_CELL_TYPE, Boolean.TRUE); The report itself uses the property... <property name="net.sf.jasperreports.export.xls.detect.cell.type" value="true"/> And the field in the Detail band that is used to hold the formula is defined as ... <textField pattern="$#,##0.00;($#,##0.00)" isBlankWhenNull="true" hyperlinkType="None"> <reportElement key="textField-6" x="614" y="1" width="102" height="15"> <property name="net.sf.jasperreports.export.xls.formula" value="ROUND(K9*N9,2)"/> </reportElement> <textFieldExpression class="java.lang.Double"></textFieldExpression> </textField> The report exports fine with all the other columns set with the proper data. However, the formula column is empty. Any ideas? Or has anyone seen a working example that uses a formula in the Detail band? Thanks
22. Hi, I've been through all the posts on this topic and tried the suggestions with no help. I have a text field in the Summary band that will not stretch. I have made changes as per the suggestions of earlier posters but still the text field will not expand. I am using japerreport 2.0.2. The text field definition looks like this. Code: <textField isStretchWithOverflow="true" isBlankWhenNull="true" hyperlinkType="None" evaluationTime="Now"> <reportElement x="3" y="2" width="311" height="63" isPrintWhenDetailOverflows="true"/> <textElement> </textElement> <textFieldExpression class="java.lang.String">$P{message}</textFieldExpression> </textField> I have tried removing the font definition with no change in behavior. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
