danoldenkampgmail.com
Imagine a sales report where the first column is sorted by the Sales Rep names. Each time there is a new Sales Rep, I need a page break, so we can pass out the report. How might I introduce paging in the report, based on that first column sort of the Dataset? Fairly new to Jaspersoft. Any help is quite appreciated. hozawa
Create a Group (right click on the project in Outline tab and click on "Create Group". Put a "Break" component in the Group Footer.Following page has information on creating a new group.https://community.jaspersoft.com/wiki/groups
C-Box
Why so "complicated" ???There is also an option "StartOnNewPage" at group-level. So if you create a group for your "sales rep name" and sort it already in your query, each sales-rep-name should invoke a page break and start on a new page... so you don't need to place any Break-Element in your group-Footer band, as this would cause an empty page at the end of the report when last group-footer is rendered. This isn't wanted... I'm sure!hth + regardsC-Box
hozawa
Have to admit C-Box's answer is better. Just create a Group and in the property in the Group Header, there's a "Start New Page" checkbox. Just check that.
