Is it possible to send Jasper reports to external users as email attachment

Hi,

 

I wanted to know if there is an ability in Jaspersoft to send the reports to external users as email attachments as part of Broadcasting. Does this come as out of the box feature or needs separate licensing.

Hi there - Report scheduling is available in JasperReports Server, see the editions http://www.jaspersoft.com/editions.  Scheduling is supported in all versions according to the Matrix on that Web site.  If you integrate your email server with JasperReports Server, then you can send reports (as attachments in your emails) to your users no matter where they might be.  You have other options in terms of where your output goes.

This is a standard JasperReports Server feature where user can run a report in the background (via scheduler from the server and send the report output as an attachment of an e-mail.

It's explained in the User Guide. It's possible to attache the report just as an attachment or to attach a zipped file.
