iReport designer for a Jasper Report with many columns

I have a requirement where I have 20 columns in a report and would like to design one in ireport designer. It is not possible to stretch the width of the column header band in the ireport designer. Is there any other way to achieve this?

I am trying to achieve horizontal scrolling in my report. Or any other way that accomodates a large number of columns in a report.

Hi Shruti,

 

You can do this easily by simply navigating to the report element, and see the properties.

In the properties see the section called Columns

In this section there are 4 parameters which you could set:

1. Columns- Here you could specify the number of columns you require.

2. Column Width - Here you could specify the width of each of the columns

3. Column Space - Here you can specify the white space in between the columns

4. Print Order - Here yu could select amongst Vertical or Horizontal, now as you have told that you require Horizontal scrolling then it could be achieved by setting the print order to horizontal

 Please refer to the snap attached along, the column section is demarcated with the Red rectangle around.

Before increase column header width you may need to increase report width from report properties.
