j.t.casperson
I'm using tables in Jasper and for the life of me I can't find anyway to set a variable on the width of columns. I'd actually like them to stretch width wise so each cell is only a single line of text as a second line (wrapping) would ruin everything I'm trying to do. I read that Jasper doesn't support dynamic width because it can mess up page format. However, I can manually stretch table column widths on a report on the JasperServer so why not let us do it automatically? Anyone?
hozawa
I'm not sure what you question is. It's possible to allow a user to change column width and regenerate a report with a table. Also, if you need to change column width, it's probably better not to use Table component but just use Text Field components.
Solution j.t.casperson Posted November 24, 2015 Author Solution Share Posted November 24, 2015 Dynamic column width isn't possible and neither is horizontal stretching in general for that matter. The simple answer is no.
dpascotto
Sorry if I do a comment 7 years after this question, BUT... I've seen this on my version (TIBCO Jaspersoft® Studio 6.18.1 - Visual Designer for JasperReports 6.18.1. ) (I try to translate in English): "resize the column taking the space from the next one"Well it seems what I need but it does NOTHING. Where am I wrong?
