This is a issue since js 4.1. You can set the connection using the ireport repository connector. Its not the best way, but it works. Hope tis bug will be fixed in the next release.

yes if your username is like the rep_id. for me its working fine. if its not working post your query. if this is not possibel you could build a parameter as a textbox where the user can type his id in an filter with this parameter the a second parameter with a single select query. but you have the security problem when every user can type an id in a box. better way is a table with set set of jasperserver username an the id and then use a join and a direct filter with the jaspeserver username on the select box. no one has to type an id and there is no security problem. hth Post Edited by jens_noering at 12/16/2011 16:00 Post Edited by jens_noering at 12/16/2011 16:05

You can use the Parameter $P!{LoggedInUsername} in select-input Controls. That will give you the logged in Username that you can use it to filter your sql-query. hth,

i found a known bug in the mondrian tracker. Bug is known an not resolved. is there a way to go back to the mondrian version shiped with the 3.5 jasperserver version: mondrian-3.0.4.11371-Jaspersoft.jar. I tried to replace the new version with the one mentioned above but a spring-framework error appears. hope someone can help me.

Hello, i've tried to upgrade von jasperserver 3.5 to 4.2. After building a test environment i fixed some bugs in my reports an tested all reports (mostly working with mondrian connection). Then i recognised the problem that mondrian creates an sql error when using a second hierarchy in one dimenson with parent-child. Both hierarchies are parent child hierarchies. The first one works correct. when trying to use the second one, an sql error appears. After reading the underlying sql query it seems that mondrian brings the closure-table of the first hierarchy in the dimension into the sql-statement. I've tried to go back to the mondrian version shiped with 3.5 but this doesnt work to, because of incompatibilities. (Spring error). Second thought was not using the closure table in the secong hierarchy, but with this other problem came und the performance wiould have been poor too. Because of this error i can not migrate to 4.2. Same Problem for me. I tested 4.0.0 and 4.1 and the Problem exists in both versions. Any hints on this problem? During my testings i also recognized reports start running when always prompt flag ist not set. In JS 3.5 there report only started running when all input controls where set through Default Values in the Jasperreport or b passed through hyperlink. I can't stop this by setting the always prompt flag because then the drilldown throup ReportExecution Hyperlink will not work anymore with an extra-prompt. Greetz, Jens

Today i bought the new definitive guide to jasperreports. i already had a version from 2007, but i hoped to get some ne thougths on this problem in the 3.7 guide. but no new facts in the guide. it says that Code: Nothing changed in the handling in jasperreports. The only thing that could be that mondrian returns an member of class olap4j, because the mondrian api is deprecated and the changed it to the new olap4j api. Hello, today i tried to the new Jasperserver 3.7. I created an test environment. Exported all sources from our productive server (JS 3.5 with cascading add on) and imported them. Now all my reports and so on are visible, all connection are available. Everthing seems ok. Now my Problem: over 90 percent our reports are using a mondrian datasouce. With the old versions of JS we were able to declare a field in this way : Code: With this method we have the opportunity to use the uniquename, the parentmember or something else. This does not work with JS 3.7 & JR 3.7. Following error appears: Field 'Periode' is of class 'mondrian.olap.Member' and can not be converted.Have there been changes in the API so that another kind of class / element will be forwarded to the report. Same error for me. Tested ist in first step with Firefox and everything works fine. But with the Internet Explorer the javascript error appears. Error appears in the commons.js javascript file that has not changed with the update. Thanks & Regards, jens

In everyway JS has to load the data from the database (datasource). So setting indexes will have an effect on the time that is required to show a view or a report. JS generates an sql- statement and pushes this to the underlying database, so you will have to optimize the underlying database structure. hth, jens

Then create the mdx in the subdataset in the following way : select {[Measures].[VALUE1], [Measures].[VALUE2]} ON COLUMNS, {[sUPPLIER].[All SUPPLIERs].children} on ROWS NON EMPTY {[PRODUCTS].Members} ON PAGES from [sPM] The field mapping is the following : for value1 measures : Data([Measures].[VALUE1],?,?) for value2 measures : Data([Measures].[VALUE2],?,?) for supliers: ROWS[supplier] for products: PAGES[Products] then your dmx should work. after that you create a crosstab which uses the subdataset. Now you can put your Suppliers on Columns, your Products on Rows and the Measures are the Measures of the crosstab. Important is that you have to pass the MONDRIAN_CONNECTION Parameter to the subdataset. Without this Parameter there will be no result. In the main datasource of the report you have to create a dummy query. Hallo, today we tried to move from js 2.1 to js 3.0. Our System has the following configuration: CentOS Linux 64 bit version Mysql 5.0 64 bit version Tomcat 5.5 Java JRE 1.5 64 bit version After dropping the war file in the webapps folder, start tomcat, shutdown tomcat, changing database connection to our root configuratian in the catalina folder and restarting tomcat the login page appeard. Then I started loging in as jasperadmin. The new Repository browser appeard. I tried to browse the new tree structure and It worked. Next I tried to view the contend of one folder and nothing happend, no reports appeared, no connections or anything else. Then i tried to use the new right mouse button feature to open popup tools for on folder, also nothing happend. Permissions for folders could also not be dealed with. When entering the 'Reports' Page my reports appeard. I assume that this is a AJAX / Javascript Problem, but I don't now how to solve it or why it happens. Now we went back to 2.1. Hi, you have to flush the olap- cache of jasperanalysis if you want to see the new result. jasperanalysis stores the result of mdx queries in olap- cache to speed up querying, so the new figures are only visible after cash-flushing. Hello Lucian, just deployed the new jsp to the rc1 but nothing happend. The same errors are happening. Am i missing something? The file has been added to the right folder, windows asked me to overwrite the old viewreport.jsp and i confirmed this. After that i started jasperserver and tried my freight-report. Hello, I've just tested the new Input Controls layout where the input controls are on top of the report page. I think this is a really good feature, but there seens to be a bug. I've installed the RC 1 by using the windows installer. Example database and reports are installed. Then modified the freight report so that it uses the top of pages input controls. First time it works when starting the report, because the saved parameters are taken. But when modifying a parameter and push the 'Run Report' Button it's not working. Mozilla 1.5 does nothing, no error message or anything else. Then tried the Internet Explorer 6.0 : The internet explorer gives me the following message: Row: 112 character: 2 Error: 'document.inputControlsFrm.ParentFolderUri.value' is null or no object greetz jens

jasperserver displays the input controls in the order you created them. if you need to change the order, you can delete the input controls and create them in the order you want them to be displayed. but i think you already mentioned this alternative. hth, jens

if you want to built your own cubes you have to take a deeper look at th workbench and the mondrian documentation. I had the problem with the not updated report by myself. a workaround is to save the report on your local computer, then modify the report and replace the old report file. hth, jens

Jasperanalysis is integrated with jasperserver. there is an analysis part in the repository (if you installed the sample database). take a look at the analysis views and the analysis report hth, jens
