How to only pass some parameters via hyperlink and prompt for others

Jasperserver 7.9

I am familiar with creating drilldown reports and passing all the parameters via hyperlink to the called report.

Is there a way to only pass some parameters and prompt the user to enter the rest?

Currently the called report runs immediately with the missing parameters taking their default values. "No data" is shown (which is expected) and the user has to bring up the input control popup to enter the missing parameters.

Perhaps you can use the display settings of the input controls (Top of Page, In Page, ...) to find a setting so that the input controls are always displayed. Then they could be prefilled accordingly.

You also pass some via query params which are hidden and the input controls that need to be selected manually to be displayed always as suggested by Johannes.  Please test this out and let us know how that goes.
