Jasper or JRXML - Which are more efficient

Hi,

are you aware that jasper builds reports in xml format specifically called jrxmls (Jasper reports extensible markup language).

Just build a report in designer and the xml will be updated in the backend. They are one and the same.

*.jasper is precompiled while *.jrxml needs to be compiled before generating a report. Thus, in term of performance, it's better to use *.jasper files. I usually do bu in case where you need to dynamically change the report layout, it's better to use *.jrxml file.
