start my first jasper report

hi ,

1) I am new in jasper report  I follow the link in the following and have difficult to find the "downloaded JasperReport .ZIP "

2) if I have eclipe  JasperSoft Studio

do I have install DB in my win , I just want to test my first report and get some ideal

1) Try downloading from here
http://community.jaspersoft.com/download

2) Yes you do need a db like oracle or postgres to install jasperserver and test your report.

1. You can download JasperReports library from sourceforge. Note that you don't need separately download JasperReports library when using Jaspersoft Studio because it's already bundled.

2. No. You do not need any database when previewing reports in Jaspersoft Studio. There's a sample datasource that you can use or you can use csv file as a datasource to your report.

Hi Hozawa,
Regarding point 2;
I am no expert in jasper, but I would like to know how can we install jasperserver without a db. Usually we use postgres to store the dummy data for foodmart and sugarcram to test the sample reports.

horzawa, I fingure out these 

1) if you want to compile with ant you have to download  jasperreports-6.0.0 the most new version did not including dis and lib folder

2) if you use eclipe +jassperSoft Studio, you have to add both jasperPorts library and jasperpot library dependencies , same tutorials only suggest five or six library , it just not work out for me .
