Unfortunately it is not possible to insert auto-refresh functions into the header in iReport or to insert it into the html report element.Right now we generate the html pages by scheduling it every minute and use a browser plugin to reload it every minute. The professional version has Visualize.js and Dashboards that will allow you to simplify that process.
