Connecting Jasper Studio to and AWS JasperServer+DB Postgres?

I am trying to connect Jasper Studio 5.6 running on my local PC to a JasperServer5.6+PostgresDB running in the AWS environment. I can not get the "Data Adapter" to connect to the database. I am not sure if a tunnel is needed for this.  Any suggestions on the correct procedure for this?

Yes you will need either a VPN to the RDS that has Postgres in it or do some port forwarding by controling the Amazon Security Groups, look at this link http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonRDS/latest/UserGuide/USER_ConnectToPostgreSQLInstance.html check the torubleshooting seccion.
