Steps to add a filter in jasperserver

Hi

I have a report thats created in iReport designer, I have added a filter in the following way.

Right click parameters -> Add parameter

In the report query added a filter expression that points to the column that needs to be filtered.

On the jasper server I uploaded the .jrxml file and added a datasource.

Also added an input control that has the same name as the parameter name in my ireport.

But the filter does not work. Are these the correct steps to follow?

Hi,

While creating the input controls, on the first page where you give the name of the Input control , there are three check boxes, you shoud check 'Mandatory' as well as 'Visible' so that it shows up and needs to be there when the report runs.

Give it a try and let me know if it works,

Thanks,

Hi,

Filter does not work means you not able to see filter/inputcontrol at report level or you provide some value to filter but it shows full data.

If not able to show input control on report then refer above post as ankur said.

Otherwise you need to check query at iReport level.

Thanks,

Ajinkya
