svenn
We are currently using a jpg image as part of our report header. We are having problems creating an image that looks decent at 100 % maginfication in pdf/Word.We are currently on Jasper 1.3.3Any tips or tricks for creating a good image in Jasper. The image looks fine in any image editor we try. Not sure what else we can do.
Teodor Danciu
Hi, I think that the image quality degradation that you perceive is caused by the fact that in JR, everything is rendered at a fixed resolution of 72 dots per inch. Your image might have a better quality (better resolution) and it simply gets lost.It probably depends on the value of the "scaleImage" attribute (whether the image is reprocessed/cut by JR, or left intact). We are considering introducing a new attribute for images and graphics, to control the resolution at which they are rendered. This is so that we preserve the quality of images or produce higher-quality graphs for devices that are resolution sensitive. We have some trackers to keep track of similar issues, but so far we have not finalized on the approach:http://jasperforge.org/projects/jasperreports/tracker/view.php?id=2723http://jasperforge.org/projects/jasperreports/tracker/view.php?id=3411 Feel free to provide us your feedback. Thanks,Teodor
svenn
The image that we are using is 72 dots per inch.Could it have something to do with the image type? Our old logo was a gif at 96 dots per inch and it seems to scale a lot better than the jpg images.
Teodor Danciu
Hi, Please provide a sample JRXML and the image, so that we can test on our own.You did not mention what the scaleImage attribute is. Thank you,Teodor
