hesher
Hi,I'm new to iReport.I started a new report with the Wizard and got a nice Table which works nicely. Then I added a PIE chart and the behaviour I get, I can't explain. In short, I have a simple table that looks something like this:Name | Value--------------------X | 43y | 21z | 33And then, with the pie chart the first page has: First Pagehttp://farm3.static.flickr.com/2515/3769461614_232ebe1db6.jpgSecond Page:http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2427/3769461654_b230d7c7dd.jpgAnd Third Page:http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3506/3768660991_9c391a2044.jpg /uploads/projects/ireport/p1.jpgPost Edited by hesher at 07/29/2009 15:
Giulio Toffoli
1. Decide where to place your chart. If you put it in the detail band, it will be printed on each record.2. On each record you get a new value for the chart, this is why you get a new slice each record. To see the chart with all the record at the same time on any position or band of your report, set the evaluation time for the element to Report.Giulio
hesher
Thank you Giulio. Is there a comprehensive guide which I can learn iReport from? I couldn't find anything over the net. (Maybe i'm missing the obvious?) Thanks again!
Giulio Toffoli
There is not a freely available comprehensive manual, just simple tutorial good only to create the first simple report. I'm working on providing some more documentation for free. Anyway a commercial manual is available and for sure it worths the money, expecially if you are starting now, since it will make you save a lot of time. http://www.jaspersoft.com/ultimate-guides Giulio
