forcing detail row to be on next page

Dear forum members,

sorry for my next issue...

my report looks like this:

[GROUP HEADER]

Grand Total 1340

 

What I would need is to force the last detail row to bes shown on the next page (for layout reasons). This should also force the subtotals to be shown on first page.

 

Is there a way to do this?

Or a workaround? I tried to add a new_page column in the database, and let a page break item be shown if the detail coulmn (new_page) has got a value =1, but then the layout is totally distroyed... subtotals of page are not shown ;-(

The only real problem is that JR is not able to say: "This is the last detail". But if you have a way to recognize it, just add a page break element with a printWhenExpression to force the page break.

I tried this already, but as I mentioned before: the problem in that case is: the page breaks avoids the subtotal block to appear (below the details)...

Not if the total is displayed in the column footer instead of the group footer.
