hangman01
Why not just use a rectangle object? If the number and size of the lines is somewhat consistent the rectangle could work. If not, have you thought about using a frame object with the border that you need for your report?

mdahlman
hangman01's idea of using frames is probably best. It's easy to design and to maintain. svenn's idea of using lines will certainly work as well. The key non-obvious idea, perhaps, is that the line on the top should be positioned as "Fix Relative to Top" while the line on the bottom should be "Fix Relative to Bottom". It's unclear to me what yo1832 means by "i put frame for zone: pageheader, subh1, subh2, subh3, detail 1 ( 2 columns) | detail2, pagefooter". A frame can be in only one band. But that should be fine for the problem as it's described. Regards,Matt

hangman01
I am not sure I understand exactly what you are trying to do, but a frame can go around more than one element or field. The only restriction is that it must be totally inside one band. You can make the frame as large as the band and have many fields inside it, or you can place multiple frames inside the band and align them to appear like a table. I have reports created that use frames in many locations and I have never had any real problems with them.
