tkavanagh
Jaspersoft is pleased to announce the availability of our JasperServer 3.0 Release. Overview of features: http://www.jasperforge.org/index.php?option=com_jd-wp&Itemid=102&p=40 New features include the following: * Repository Manager - has been improved and expanded to support features such as drag and drop for moving resources. * Flash Viewer - JasperServer now supports the ability to view a report in Flash (SWF) format. When you view a report in Flash, you can navigate through its pages, zoom in or out, and print. * Internationalization of Input Controls - A report's input control labels can reside in the report's resource bundles. In this case, Users will see these labels in their preferred locale. * Pass Locale as Parameter via URL - When running JasperServer reports via URLs, you can now programmatically specify the locale to use for the report. * Password Expiration - Administrators can now configure JasperServer to require users to change their passwords at regular intervals. * Top of Page Controls - Report designers now have the option to display input controls at the top of the report page, rather than displaying them on a separate page or in a pop-up window. When a report has only a few controls, placing them at the top of the report page can improve your users' experience. * JasperServer Heartbeat - Jaspersoft asks that you opt-in to our Heartbeat local configuration information collection. This will help us develop better products by understanding real-world implementation information such as Java version, operating system, application server type, etc. * User Authentication via URL - You can now programmatically log users into JasperServer, and direct them to a specific report, analysis view, or dashboard by specifying the username and password as parameters to the URL. * Importer Update Option - The importer can now replace an existing repository resource with a new resource of the same type. "js-import --update" * And a number of other features and bugfixes! Please see the Release Notes and User Guide for more information. gabrielinux
I installed 3.0 RC1 a couple of weeks ago -- is it much different from 3.0.0? I guess I'm trying to determine if it's worth the time upgrading from RC1 to the final release.
tkavanagh
There were definitely a bunch of bugs fixed before the final 3.0 (GA) went out (I'll see if the folks here know of any particularly big ones). Regarding the DB diff between RC1 and GA, that's a good question. I'm checking right now.

israel.faria
I'd like to express my happiness with this release of jasperserver. I'm a developer working with jasperserver as a part of our system accessing it trough its web-service.For me the best part of it is the releasing of the source. Now we'll be able to examine how few of the internals were done and surely will help on our project.Thumbs Up for JasperSoft for releasing it all!
