Can I create a report to make an automatically export to a file?

Can I create a report for me Jaspersoft to generate the information directly into a file without having to display information on the screen?
I have a very heavy report that the number of records is difficult to display it , I need to generate a file to be downloaded locally. Is this possible?

You'll need to write your own program using JasperReports library to do that. Fortunately, it's not too complicated.
