Here is a chart that shows the difference between the editions:  http://www.jaspersoft.com/editions

The community edition provides a repository and the related security to enable self-service report execution and scheduling under the AGPL v3 license, which allows you to use it for free for your own use but does not allow it to be included as part of a commercial product or SaaS application.

The commercial edition provides additional features such as ad hoc report creation, dashboard design, a semantic data abstraction layer with row and column level data security, auditing capabilities, multi-tenancy, etc. all under a commercial license to allow use and distribution within a commercial product.

It is mentioned on the website that for the Community Edition, Interactive Report Viewing and OLAP Server features are available which do interactive reporting. I have downloaded, installed and made some static reports with the Community Edition. I am wondering how to create interactive reports using Community Edition of Jaspersoft Studio. There are some sample reports of SugarCRM where are interactive on JasperSoft Server. Is it possible to make such highly interactive reports using Community Edition or are they limited to the Commercial Edition. Can you also re-direct me to any videos which guide me how to make interactive reports using Studio and that can be published to the Server and the end-user should be able to select the fields or the criteria using filters and then, it should dynamically pull the data as per the criteria given by the user? If you can advise me with this, our team would have a better idea about the solutions offered by Jaspersoft.

On the site https://www.gnu.org/licenses/why-affero-gpl.html there is sentence

"The GNU Affero GPL does not address the problem of Service as a Software Substitute (SaaSS).

SaaSS means that users use someone else's web server to do their own computing. This requires them to send their data to the server, which does their computing for them and sends the results back to them. SaaSS is an injustice because the users cannot control their computing when it's done that way."

So how it comply to this answer and the "does not allow it to be included as part of a commercial product or SaaS application" ?

So can I use JRServer as a standalone without any modifications and use it in commercial project in the way that my software will use it as a service?

I had been struck with the same problem from last 1 week, is it possible to build Interactive reports using the community edition? I was glad if any of you guys can direct me with some videos of creating Interactive reports in the studio & later publishing it into the server. please provide me with some guidelines.

Thanks in advance.
