teodord Posted February 23, 2011 Share Posted February 23, 2011 Hi, Is your question related to Jaspersoft Studio in particular?If this is more about JasperReports in general, then you should probably use the JR forums instead.In any case, you can take a look at the /demo/samples/noxmldesign sample provided with the JR project distribution package, to see how you can construct a report using the API alone, including how to add text field elements to bands. The reason I am trying to create a text field is " when I drag a field from outline view to report editor, I want to create a textfield whose expression is mapped to$F{<field name dragged>} ".
