Integrating ireports with my application

I have an application with a mysql database.
I want to use my front-end to generate reports.

Can I use iReports for that? (in other words, does iReports have some API which can be used?)

ANyone has any recommendations on what else could I possibly use? Of course, I would like a solution with minimum coding involved.
