How to backup a jasperserver CE install and migrate to a new server

Id like to move my js ce install with all its reports from an old server to a new one.  Is there a guide on how to do this?

Hi, have you seen this article about Migration and Compatibility:

https://community.jaspersoft.com/documentation/tibco-jasperreports-serve...

Might be a good starting point, to find the right documentation for your usecase.

Hi,

in this case I would create an export.zip of the repository on the old system and after installing the new server I would import it.

I would use superuser on both system and for import use "legacy key" if that is on option.

There is a documentation about it for 6.2 here:

https://community.jaspersoft.com/documentation/tibco-jasperreports-serve...

Hope that helps.

Hi,

unfortunately there is no download for 6.20 anymore. The version is very old and will not provide any fixes for known security issues of these days.

The Product Management decided to change the Version Numbering for CE to be in synch with the commercial editions. That’s why you will see in the download menu Studio and Library 6.2x and Server 8.1x.

I would recommend to use the latest version of the Server. You will be able to import your extracted repository and get the benefit of the latest hot-fixes for all known security limitations.

All other CE release can be found here:

https://community.jaspersoft.com/project/jasperreports-server/releases

Hope that helps.

Regards TT
