Format number with pattern even if a locale is set

Hey guys,

I'd like to format numbers on my report with a pattern, rathern then the locale that is set.
I do need the locale for localization of various static texts on the reports.
Jasper seems to ignore patterns if a locale is set.

Is there a way to force Jasper to format numbers by a pattern that is supplied to a text field with via style?

Why don't you format the number in your java application first and then pass it into Jasper to display?

if u use jasperstudio or ireport, theres "pattern" properties.
just click the elements and find "pattern" in the "text field" properties tab.
theres some default pattern in there u can choose.
