JasperReports Server "Back" button is clicked in a drilled down report, it goes back up to the calling report -Version 6.4

I have a requirement to do a drill-down to a detail report from a master report via hyperlink. 
On my master report, I have a table textfield whose Hyperlink tab has "ReportExecution" for the Hyperlink Type attribute and link target is "Self".

When the JasperReports Server "Back" button is clicked in a drilled down report, 
it goes back up to the calling report fine, all the way back to the top level main report.

when the JasperReports Server "Back" button (or even the browser's back button) is clicked AND returning back to the top level report, 
the "Input Control" parameters is displayed with the default values ie the previously entered values are lost.

This is actually a current defect. There is a hot fix for this defect. More information can be found here:

Assuming you are using JRS 7.1.x, I would suggest trying the hot fix. I hope this helps.
