for import report to jasperserver, is the --update option in 

Import the myDir catalog folder, replacing existing resources if their URIs and types match those found in the catalog:

js-import --input-dir myDir --update

is equivalence to in my jasperstudio, choose "overwrite"?

The "--update" is as follows:

"Resources in the catalog repalce those in the repository in their URIs and types match."

Technically yes, it can be looked at as a overwrite similar to Jaspersoft Studio.
