Problems with understanding how to get data

Hi all,

I am new to Jasper so i'am not sure that i do correct things.

For example i made report something like this

 

 

So i am not sure how to get values to this fileds(from my one only object) that are inside this text fields?

Have you tried running the report (preview tab)?  Are you getting an error?  It looks like some of your fields aren't mapped to anything, so those don't look right.

If you run preview and still can't figure it out, then if you can post your XML, people will be better able to help you.

Recommend that you go through Jaspersoft Studio tutorial on how to create a report. Fields are populated from datasource. Datasource is often a database table. It is recommended to setup a datasource before you begin designing your report.

So i have only one object where i get all that i need for all this fields, but i dont know what i need to write in .xml so this fields could get value ?

Yes, Hozawa is right, your report is set with the empty data adapter.  You have to set up a data adapter bto connect to your database and use that in the report.

But why? I just have one object in List, i dont have database...

yoou still have to make a data adapter of some kind.  JasperReports is a framework for getting data from a data source and displaying it.  If that's not what you want, maybe you are using the wrong program.

Just for reference, if you're not going to be using a database, you still have to create an appropriate datasource such as XML datasource and JavaBeans datasource where data will be fetched into the report.
