I would add net.sf.jasperreports.print.keep.full.text =true along with net.sf.jasperreports.export.xls.wrap.text=false, so the text won't be cut off.

I had the same issue recently. It has been solved by adding <property name="net.sf.jasperreports.export.xls.pattern" value="M/d/yyyy h:mm AM/PM"/> to the cell that need to be formatted. qianyd
