  1. Ok, I am not sure why, but it appears to be something to do with resolving the URL used. When I substitute the URL with the IP address all is well, and the image renders as expected. The tomcat app which sits "above" Jasper can see the images just fine. So, what needs tweaking with Jasper to resolve the URL's correctly?
  2. My heart almost stopped a beat when you mentioned clustered. That is exactly the installation I need!
  3. This error occurs as part of a failed preview in JasperSoft® Studio 6.21.2 - Visual Designer for JasperReports 6.21.2. I have this... Image Expression: "https://blahblah.com/beep/beep/beep" + $F{_labslip} Which gives this... https://blahblah.com/beep/beep/beep/3D0002050-2024-03-28-09-47-10 As the actual URL of interest However, this generates these errors... On JasperSoft Studio net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRException: net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRException: Byte data not found at: https://blahblah.com/beep/beep/beep/3D0002050-2024-03-28-09-47-10. at com.jaspersoft.studio.editor.preview.view.control.ReportController.fillReport(ReportController.java:553) at com.jaspersoft.studio.editor.preview.view.control.ReportController$1.run(ReportController.java:446) at org.eclipse.core.internal.jobs.Worker.run(Worker.java:63) Caused by: net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRException: Byte data not found at: https://blahblah.com/beep/beep/beep/3D0002050-2024-03-28-09-47-10. at net.sf.jasperreports.repo.RepositoryUtil.getBytesFromLocation(RepositoryUtil.java:215) at net.sf.jasperreports.renderers.util.RendererUtil.getNonLazyRenderable(RendererUtil.java:179) at net.sf.jasperreports.engine.fill.JRFillImage.evaluateImage(JRFillImage.java:522) at net.sf.jasperreports.engine.fill.JRFillImage.evaluate(JRFillImage.java:450) at net.sf.jasperreports.engine.fill.JRFillElementContainer.evaluate(JRFillElementContainer.java:383) at net.sf.jasperreports.engine.fill.JRFillBand.evaluate(JRFillBand.java:548) at net.sf.jasperreports.engine.fill.JRVerticalFiller.fillColumnBand(JRVerticalFiller.java:2614) at net.sf.jasperreports.engine.fill.JRVerticalFiller.fillDetail(JRVerticalFiller.java:837) at net.sf.jasperreports.engine.fill.JRVerticalFiller.fillReportStart(JRVerticalFiller.java:276) at net.sf.jasperreports.engine.fill.JRVerticalFiller.fillReport(JRVerticalFiller.java:119) at net.sf.jasperreports.engine.fill.JRBaseFiller.fill(JRBaseFiller.java:631) at net.sf.jasperreports.engine.fill.BaseFillHandle$ReportFill.run(BaseFillHandle.java:141) at java.base/java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Which is baffling to me as the browser properly renders the image pointed to by this URL -> https://blahblah.com/beep/beep/beep/3D0002050-2024-03-28-09-47-10 JasperReports Server gives this error... There was an error on the server. Try again or contact site administrators. (Error UID: 786d7e24-d712-4f04-97eb-71402238d98c) I've looked at causes for this error, and none I have found match what's going on here. The URL by itself renders properly in the browser, so I think I can eliminate permissions. I've looked at causes for this error, and none I have found match what's going on here
  4. I have, and it's not particularly great. Which is the reason I asked the question. I am looking at MariaDB (current version) on Ubuntu 24.04 with Tomcat 9.
  5. The host is Ubuntu 24.04, and MariaDB 10.11.8 I believe there used to be such a guide, but I cannot find it anymore.
  6. Specifically what is happening on going to the jasperreorts server home page, is this... See page01.png Refresh See page02.png Logon See page03.png Refresh - logon successful Can run a report directly, and it succeeds Logoff See page01.png
  7. I think it would work if you did something like this in the SQL for your report... SELECT CAST( (`A` + `B` / `C') AS INT)
  8. On further tinkering, it appears that the problem is to do with "logging on" Going directly to the Jasper ReportServer web page, and trying logging on produces a "system error" but a refresh of that browser tab, everything progresses as normal The error (naturally enough I guess) for a failed logon doesn't seem to generate any log file output (probably because of the reported server error) I guess I will have to wait until tomorrow to gracefully shut down the system, and gently reboot it
  9. That the onscreen error message appears on the ReportsServer web page Logging off that page also produces an internal error, BUT there is nothing added to the logs
  10. This has never happened before, and is pretty darned inconvenient It is NOT a Browser thing - Safari, Chrome and Firefox all behave the same It could be a Windows 10/11 thing, or it could be a JasperReports Server thing Running Jasper Reports Server CE, Version 8.20 Off Ubuntu 22.04, Tomcat 9.0.63, with OpenJDK 8 URL: https://blahblahblah.com:8443/jasperserver/rest_v2/reports/reports/blah.pdf?j_username=bb&j_password=cc&pCaseList=2482695, Reloading the Server Page, produces the correct report, but leaves the error page Nothing has been added, changed, removed from the Server Setup for several months - especially this report The weird thing I see is that Spanish is used in the log, and that's never been a thing If the report is run again, then it works without error The Jasper Reports Server Error reported is: ============================================ Internal server error occurred. Please contact your system administrator. Details: There was an error on the server. Try again or contact site administrators. (Error UID: 45d5a412-e8c1-4bdb-b5a4-0aae949951a0) jasperlog.txt
  11. This I think works, but that's more hope than expectation, and I haven't tried printing it, just scanning off the screem
  12. Do you mean a QR Code overlaying an logo, or side-by-side? Both work just fine, until you try scanning the QR Code if it's overlaid. If overlaid, them the logo has to be "light enough" for a scanner to think it's "white space"
  13. And perhaps not unexpectedly, all mysteriously becomes well. No more "danger danger" from Chrome Life is definitely a bit of a risk
  14. One more piece of weird to add to this world. Not sure why it would be tagged as such, but not entirely helpful to those wanting to download it.
  15. Noting that despite the ReportServer CE (8.2 being I think the last) being AGPL(?) licensed, TIBCO (or whoever is the power now) is refusing to honour requests for the source. Pretty much sucks. And, given that the CE is withdrawn, and that the source isn't being provided, what exactly is the point of having this community forum? Paid subscribers presumably get support directly, and have no need of a forum. CE users largely do not know enough to solve many of the problems, when they get past trivial. Note: TIBCO offering a license for 20k Euros PER YEAR is way out of reach for most small businesses.
