Commercial version of JasperReports Server has Audit that can be used to log activities such as report execution. Users will be able to use Adhoc reports to analyze the Audit logs.

hozawa's post in Cannot connect to datasource in Jasper Studio 5.5.1 was marked as the answer
Try opening up your data adapter with a text editor.
Change "savePassword" to "false"
<savePassword>false</savePassword>
Blank out the "password"
<password></password>
Also, check the "classpath" to make sure the path to the jdbc driver is correct.
Go back to studio and refresh and reopen the data adapter file. Enter the password again and see if that'll work.

>Can you please confirm that we can use this in a commercial environment without costs?
One further comment. Whether it is LGPL or just plain GPL, users are allowed to use the software without cost. The difference is whether user is required to make their source code available as well or not. LGPL allows users to use it without making their source code available if the jar files are unmodified.

hozawa's post in Inserting a word document into jasper iReport was marked as the answer
What is the version of MS Word documents? If it's 2007 or above, you'll be able to save the document in docx format. You'll be able to use docx4j to parse the docx document.

hozawa's post in Hindi Words are not coming properly in PDF was marked as the answer
Are you generating pdf reports from iReport or Jaspersoft Studio? I have found JasperServer 5.5 has problem generating ad hoc reports with alphanumeric characters in pdf format.
