Hi, My main report uses a subreport that takes in a List<int> as parameter. I want to be able to pass in a list of Integers from the main report to the subreport. The integer list is the result of a query that needs to be passed to the List<int> parameter of the subreport. How do I do this using the Jasper Report Engine or iReport? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Eric

Hi, I installed JasperServer and had to no end of problems with the installation. I chose to use my existing installations of MySQL (version 6) Tomcat (version 6) and iReport (version 3.6.0). The installation failed without any notification. It wasn't until I took a look at the installation log that I noticed it had failed miserably; the database scripts completely failed. I had to manually carry out each of the steps outlined in the batch files called by the installer and made sure they ran successfully. In doing so I found that the scripts were not compatible at all with MySQL 6. It would be very helpful if the installer could detect what version of MySQL is supported and issue warning whenever there are compatibility issues, or indeed fail the installation if any of those scripts fail to execute. Or the installation guide should clearly state what versions of MySQL, Tomcat and iReport are supported. BTW I could not open (in Jasper Server) some of the JRXML files I had creared using iReport 3.6.0 What do you think?

Hi, I have just installed JasperServer on my XP using my existing Tomcat (running as a service) and MySQL (running as a service) installations. First I noticed that the schorcuts to the allctl.bat script (i.e. start, shutdown, restart) are not present in the JasperServer program folder. Second, when I try to start Tomcat I get a bunch of errors in the tomcat logs, please see attachments. Hi, I am a complete newbie and I would like to get to grips with report drill-down using IReport 3.6.0. I downloaded iReport and created two reports: master.jrxml and slave.jrxml. slave.jrxml is parameterised and I would like to invoke/execute/view it by clicking on hyperlinks contained in master.jrxml. 1. How do I achieve this? 2. Do I require JasperServer? 3. Can I do by invoking an external Java application which in turn will execute the report? (This will negate the need for JasperServer right?) 4. Are they any other ways this can be achieved? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am evaluating JasperReports as a potential solution for our reporting needs. I have a number of questions that I'd to put to the JasperReports user community: Can an external Java application be called from a report (say in response to a hyperlink click)? If so how? Can the Java class TimeZone be used in the expression builder? If so how? Does JasperReports support cascading parameters? If so how?Any help would be greatly appreciated. I arrived at the same conclusion. This does not fill me with great confidence about the JasperETL if something as basic as this was not picked up during QA.

I have the same problem. This is the very first project I tried to create with JasperETL. I am very surprised an error as trivial as this was not picked up by Jasper QA team and there seems to be no help available.
