  1. An IBM survey has found that the welter of emails arriving at workstations is a key contributor to workplace stress. The survey of 629 managers found 45 per cent agree that having too many irrelevant emails in their inbox makes for a stressful workplace. Seven per cent find it very stressful, whilst half of respondents agreed that unanswered emails were also contributing to workplace stress. The stress of constantly responding to emails affects 48 per cent of workers, rising to 54 per cent in organisations with more than 500 employees. Almost 100 per cent of respondents said email remains the most commonly used collaborative tool in the workplace but is often overwhelming or used in the wrong way, leading to avoidable workplace stress. Predictably, the study also found that communication blunders in the office are commonplace, and another contributor to stress. Nearly three quarters of workers admitted they have sent an email to the wrong person by mistake, and nearly half have hit Reply to All instead of Reply or the opposite at some time. As many as 59 per cent of managers have tried to recall an email but it was too late, and 49 per cent have said something in an email which they have later come to regret. IBM Australia spokesman James Gorry said Australian workers are looking for alternative ways to work more productively, and to find tools that can help alleviate workplace stress rather than increase it. "It is clear that Australian organisations are missing an opportunity to encourage the adoption of enterprise grade social networking tools, alongside the old favourites including email, as these technologies can both increase employee morale as well as drive a more efficient workforce," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Gorry as saying. 5. Folks, I have 1 Master report that has 1 subreport and have 1 Report separately all these are using same queries and same parameters. I uploaded the subreport jrxml in jasperserver as 'filetype' and uploaded the master report as JasperServer Report.Pointing to the subreport in the master report is been configured correctly. i.e ("repo:/<path to subreport>") Tried to execute the report with parameter passing it executed well. Next, in this master report i want to add hyperlink that should open a separate report. Uploaded separate report jrxml as filetype in jasperserver below are the steps i configured to create a hyperlink in the master report. 1. Created one static text field. 2. Right click - > Hyperlink. 3. Set Hyperlink target - Self , Hyperlink type - Report Execution. 4. Under Link parameter - created 4 parameter as follows _report - "/path to report /" and 3 parameters of mine which is 'java.lang.Long' datatype 5. Saved master report and uploaded the same in jasperserver- executed the master report.it executed well. while clicking on hyperlinked report. jasperserver throws an following exception. java.lang.ClassCastException: com.jaspersoft.jasperserver.api.metadata.common.domain.client.FileResourceImpl cannot be cast to com.jaspersoft.jasperserver.api.metadata.jasperreports.domain.ReportUnit at com.jaspersoft.jasperserver.war.action.ReportParametersAction.loadReportUnit(ReportParametersAction.java:167) at com.jaspersoft.jasperserver.war.action.ReportParametersAction.createWrappers(ReportParametersAction.java:110) at com.jaspersoft.jasperserver.war.action.ViewReportAction.checkForParams(ViewReportAction.java:148) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at org.springframework.webflow.util.DispatchMethodInvoker.invoke(DispatchMethodInvoker.java:103) at org.springframework.webflow.action.MultiAction.doExecute(MultiAction.java:136) at org.springframework.webflow.action.AbstractAction.execute(AbstractAction.java:203) at org.springframework.webflow.engine.AnnotatedAction.execute(AnnotatedAction.java:142) at org.springframework.webflow.engine.ActionExecutor.execute(ActionExecutor.java:61) at org.springframework.webflow.engine.ActionState.doEnter(ActionState.java:180) at org.springframework.webflow.engine.State.enter(State.java:200) at org.springframework.webflow.engine.Flow.start(Flow.java:557) at org.springframework.webflow.engine.impl.RequestControlContextImpl.start(RequestControlContextImpl.java:195) at org.springframework.webflow.engine.SubflowState.doEnter(SubflowState.java:120) Note : I have checked all the parameters datatype in all 3 reports .all are in same data type. I'm struggling on this problem for past 2 days.. Can anyone help me out ? what the problem here ? where am doing wrong
  6. Great ! Use Eclipse IDE. Create a project in that and import the source code and then build the source. Check for jasperserver-guide how to build the source.
  7. HI Folks, I have implemented 'n' number of reports generation by calling via webservices in my application. Everything works fine. Now i'm facing some performace issues ,for some reports while generating the reports from a large database. often, getting heap size error in tomcat even i increase valid jvm mem.size in the tomcat. So, i were seeing at mysql performance to fine tune.there i came to know.for each reports a persistence connection is getting open and not closing. Since jasperserver using persistence connection. I would like to use non-persistent connection setting in the jasperserver to make my reports performance well. Can anyone pls.guide me how should i go for it ?

  11. HI Folks, I'm trying to find out the way of hidding the repository folders (Datasource,Reports,Input controls) for different users. For exaple say , i have a these folder structure ( Folder A , Folder B ,Folder C ) each folder has datasources ,reports inputcontrols. And have 3 users say (user A, user B , user C). If i login as user A, i only want to see Folder A alone in the repo tree structure. Folder B & Folder C is not visible to User A. I mean want to hide repository based on the user. FYI : I tried by setting hidden column in 'JIResourceFolder ' to hide the repository. it works cool. this is db level. I'm looking for the same using user login to hide . Any ideas/suggestions ?
