    Expression Editor:

    Print WhenExpression:

  2. That is interesting indeed, I am not sure we have this level of customizing the dashed line in Studio, but as a workaround you can create multiple line with the width and space you want.

Please add this as a feature request in our JS idea website: https://jaspersoftideas.tibco.com/  more your idea is voted on more chances that it would be included in our next releases.

If you already purchased Jaspersoft, please open a case in https://support.tibco.com/s/, a dedicated Support Engineer would be able to assist you.

  3. Looks like the issue is that you might be using an unsupported JVM version. Please make sure your JVM is compatible here

If you're already purchased Jaspersoft, please open a support case here, a dedicated support engineer will assist you installing & deploying JRS.

Otherwise, I would recommend that you use the the zip installer (war file), which gives you more flexibility on choosing your own App Server, DB Server, configure your JVM... You can follow the steps for War file installer here

  4. Hi Ssoni35, I would recommend that you use the latest versions of both our library and Jaspersoft Studio/Server, upgrading to the latest version shouldn't be a big effort as we do have backward compatibility.

With that being said, if you're set on using a specific version of the Library, then you can use any Jaspersoft Studio version (preferably the latest so you can get to use the latest features), normally your latest Studio version should work with your old JR Library see here, but to be safer you can set your Studio to be compatible with your specific JR Library version here

I need to update a Jasper report. However, when I tried to open the file, I encountered the following message:  I have also searched for a solution, but with no luck.  Capture.JPG.8d8de2e4e712164c0b5c4e110a8de87e.JPG

After upgrade to 9.0 from 8.1 our larger reports are failing towards the end of processing with only a fairly general error message.

    Invoke-RestMethod : resource.not.foundResource 6ea06350-e6ee-4671-9725-de03c7983f62 not

        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : WebCmdletWebResponseException,Microsoft.PowerShell.Commands.InvokeRestMethodCommand

I'm sort of at a loss for how to troubleshoot the issue - wondering if this resource name "6ea06350-e6ee-4671-9725-de03c7983f62" is something I can identify/investigate/troubleshoot etc?  Anyone else seeing similar issues.  My assumption at this point is either process is failing at the end of the query when it hits a temp space/sort space limit on the DB or its failing on the Jasper side trying to convert the query results into report image format (pdf).  (Is there a config setting that allocates or throttles RAM consumption I may need to increase?)

Was considering submitting this as a case and/or searching the Community site or posting this there.  Saw this event was planned for  tomorrow and decided I'd try that first.....  Thanks!

is there a way to have a multi selection query parameter in a report and to make a rest call to generate the pdf of the report and select all options in the parameter without knowing the values of any of the options in the parameter?

    Hi lkuo,

Thank you for bringing up your concerns and questions for our live webinar. We appreciate your active participation.

Yes, there are many ways you can follow to achieve this (Configure the report to run without the IC, Have default values as select all...).

  9. Performance issues depend on many factors (resources such as ram and CPUs, JVM params, errors, memory leak, tuning....).You would need to fine-tune your environment to lower the response time.

The best way to go through this is first to check your logs. Are there any errors? If you can, try increasing the RAM; the larger the size of your files, the more memory you will need. Common performance issues mostly come from not having enough memory allocated to your report engine or misconfigured.

Also, please use the latest JRS versions (which are generally better in performance than the previous ones), and use the latest JDK version with the parameters recommended in our install guide.

You can go further on the investigation by hooking your JRS with visualVM or another profiling tool and check how much memory your report takes and in which java method it's taking the most of the time, sometimes a bad implementation of report components can impact the memory consumptions, especially for crosstabs.

Please see here for how to investigate performance issues and fine-tuning :

  10. Please try this one instead as mentioned in my last comment : "jdbc:sqlserver://mht01:1433/master;instance=SQLexpress"

If it didn't work, please review:

    • I can't see the version and name of your driver from your last message. Please check if the driver you're using is actually supported in the community platform supported documentation here based on your version.
    • tibco software sqldriver is shipped with the source code, only available for commercial edition
    • This is where to get the log files:

  11. Hi, which chart engine are you using?

Jaspersoft community edition is using Jfreechart, you can use the properties exposed by the Studio in the advanced section of your chart(see screenshot below). If you can't find what you're looking for in there, you can add a chart customizer class to call the Jfreechart property from it and reference the class in your chart in Studio. (See here)

  12. Hi, this will probably be driver dependent, can you try accessing your database this way: "jdbc:sqlserver://localhost/master;instance=SQLexpress".

Also, try using our shipped tibco software sqldriver.

If none of the above works, please send the version of sqlserver jdbc driver you're using and the error log file.

  13. Hi grobinson, looks like you have a compilation issue in your report. When you publish a report to the Server, the studio automatically compiles the report first and generates any compilation errors you might have; if you look in the code source view of your report (the jrxml code), you might see the part of the error underlined in red.

More importantly, I see that you use Professional version 7.5, I highly recommend you use our recently supported versions; you can try version 8, and if the problem persists, you can log a ticket in our support platform for commercial users: https://support.tibco.com, a dedicated support engineer will be helping you fix the issue in a timely manner.

Let me know if you need further assistance from the community.

  14. Hi Geruiz,

We are not supporting Ad Hoc View export in Visualize.js at the moment. You can file an Enhancement request here

A possible workaround for a moment:

    1. Add Ad Hoc View to the dashboard as a dashlet.
    2. Enable export button for the dashlet.
    3. Embed dashboard using visualize.js
    4. Use export button of the dashlet to export Ad Hoc View into any supported format from the list
  15. Hi, could you please elaborate more on what are you trying to accomplish, and the reasons behind this requirement?

Generally, if you want your subreports to have dynamic path, you can use Customer expression (Expression editor) when you select your subreport from your main report. You can then have a dynamic path based on a variable, parameter....This way you'll be able to fix your publishing strategy and you'll make sure that the desired subreport will be picked.
