I want to use the XML file generated by Ireport with Open report. If it is possible how? If not any other tool for generating XML file for the reports to be used with Open Reports

Open Report doesn't use the XML report file definition, it uses the compiled version of the report .jasper. From ur question I understand that u want to compile ur report on the fly, but then the API for compiling included in tools.jar cannot be distributed to end customer because of licensing restrictions of SUN...

 

The easiest way is to recompile your report each time you modify it ! using iReport for example ! :o)
