Any cost to deploy

I want to use Jaspersoft report in my java application which is hosted in RHEL 

When I will deploy it in the server - RHEL - does it require me to buy anything - leave any infra cost - just wanted to be sure that Jasper Soft report does not require any cost when deploying.

Hi, 

if you use the Community Edition you have to follow the rules of AGPL. If so you will not have any additional cost. 

You can finde a comparison of the Jaspersoft Editions with all the different capabilities here:

At the end of the Table you will find the following explanation and an addition link that will describe AGPL.

AGPL

• Licensed under the highly restrictive GNU Affero General Public License v.3 (“AGPL 3”)

• User must make or offer to make the source code available under the AGPL 3

• User’s proprietary code is placed at risk, as the obligation to make source code available under the AGPL 3 may extend to the user’s proprietary software

• In a notable difference from the standard GNU General Public License, the obligation to make source code available under the AGPL 3 may extend to the user’s proprietary software, even when the Community Edition is included as part of a hosted offering and is not distributed by the user

• The AGPL 3 does not include support, maintenance, warranties, or indemnities

Hello

Jaspersoft itself is free to use, including deployment on RHEL. However, you may have to consider costs related to server infrastructure and any RHEL licenses if you choose the commercial version.
