Jaspersoft Studio 6.16 does not complete startup

Friday, 6.15 worked fine.

Today it didn't. It did not complete startup

Uninstalled 6.15, installed 6.16

Same problem, fails to complete the start up

Tried deleting the lock file, no joy

Running  off Windows 10

I think it has something to do with a Microsoft Edge update that was "forced" on Saturday the 19th.

Note, Edge is now entangled with Chrome.

NOTE: This solution requires re-importing of projects. Thankfully they are not zapped.

Step 1: Delete lock file(s) from C:Program FilesTIBCOJaspersoft Studio-6.16.0configurationorg.eclipse.osgi.manager folder (or wherever Studio is installed)

Step 2: Delete the *.snap files located in <WORKSPACE_PATH>/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.resources/

Step 3: Open Project from FileSystem... Your reports should still be where they were, just need to be "brought back into" Studio.

I put it down to the unasked for Edge update (aka some folk at Microsoft probably need a good dose of "education" of the type grandparents usually dish out)

The solution below may need to be "re-applied" depending on your luck.

Something with wither or both of the current Win10 and the current Studio is finicky.

The good news is the solution still works.
