Cannot get manual creation of jasperreport into server

hi all

I created a report in studio, tested by running a preview... its fine... so saved it onto my pc by using the save as jasperreport...

 

in jasperreports server i selected the repository then reports rightclick add resource>jasperreport

setup is displayed and when i select the local file and submit it says it cannot parse the file

 

i notice though that the extent is a jrprint not jrxml... 

what is the jrprin used for and how do i create the jrxml file
