2001 JI Open Discussion
By: Paul W - paul_w Triple Spacing? 2005-05-09 14:56Hi, Is there a way to do triple spacing? My datasource is a List of Strings (the output of a COBOL program). COBOL prints an ASCII print control character in the first position: '1' top of next page; ' ' single spacing; '0' double spacing; and '-' triple spacing. There are three fields, a derived print control character for single, double and triple; a dummy group number--changes with the top of new page forcing jasper to do a page break; and the text line. The first blank static text prints when double spacing applies, the first and second static text print when triple spacing applies. I think I can replace these with two more derived fields, but I was curious if anyone had a simpler work-around. I just upgraded jasperreports-0.5.2.jar to jasperreports-0.6.6.jar and the associated JasperAssistant 1.3.3 to 1.5.3. JasperAssistant 1.5.3 flags my report's static text with this message: "Text value must be non-empty." Thanks, Paul
