Is iReport an enduser Tool?

Can end users use iReport if they don't know SQL, PL/SQL?

As I have been tasked to assess iReport as an enduser reporting tool.

I would like to know if compared to Oracle's Dicoverer if the user who is not a developer (ie does not do SQL etc) can select simply the columns they require without knowing the structure of the data.

Regards

There is a nice query designer builtin in iReport... as I do many end-user schooling for generating reports against our erp-database the most tricky thing is the filtering and ordering and of course joining tables stuff.... this is quiet hard to teach if the user dosn't know at least what a primary or foreign key is.

The actual designing is drag&drop and what you see is what your get.... also creating groups and variables is quite simple (IMHO).

So we have many customers/users that create their own reports with it.

But I don't know Oracle discoverer... so I can't compare

just my two cents
