There is an export parameter which can be used to embed JavaScript code into the PDF document. Depending on Acrobat version and document permissions, this code gets executed or no. The JavaScript piece of code represents user defined content, so it's the user's decision how to appropriately write it.

In JasperReports you can use either the PDF_JAVASCRIPT export parameter, or the net.sf.jasperreports.export.pdf.javascript property for this purpose.
