Suggestion about HTML encoding and px file

2003-03-20 07:11

I have a suggestion about not including the px file when encoding using the HTML file format. I know that empty cells in a table are not always rendered correctly, and that's probably why you include this file. But if you would write " ", the encoded space character instead of including the px file, the cell would be rendered correctly.

I was searching for the answer to this, and Teodor has already implemented it: set

JRHtmlExporterParameter IS_USING_IMAGES_TO_ALIGN to false.

Hi,

We use the px image to have precise control over

the size of the table cells in HTML.

This is ot the case when using space characters

in empty cells.

Anyway, exporters are pluggable components and

you could easily create and use a different one if

the built-in does not suit your needs.

We could even have HTML exporters specilized for

IE or Netscape, or other that use CSS to display

lines and rectangles.

I would be happy to add new exporters to the library, but nobody came up with such components

yet.

Maybe in the future.
