I'm performing the first steps in JasperReports use, and I have some questions about the expandability of the system. Looking at the XML report design structure, it seems that it's not possible for a programmer to design its own reports elements by creating new classes (say a vertical text field for example, that is my need). I understand that this kind of expandability would be a trouble in relation to HTML export, but would like to know some expert opinion.
