topkatz
Is there a good detailed explanation on how to backup a jasperserver install for DR? I know how to handle the MySql part, however not sure if I need to do anything with the tomcat install. Is just backing up the mysql db sufficient? My install is standalone Mysql and bundled tomcat. I dont see a war in my /opt/jasperserver/apache-tomcat/webapps dir. Any pointers on this would be much appreciated. Katz
topkatz
Nobody wants to share how they handle DR with jasperserver? Is backing up the mysql tables enough? Would a reinstall of jasperserver, then dumping the db's back into a fresh mysql install do the trick?
topkatz
The simple anwser to this is, you just have to backup your db. What I did to test all this: - In a VM I started witha fresh mysql install. - restored a backup of my application db- installed a fresh copy of jasperserver- restored my backup of the jasperserver db Everything worked as expected. As long as you use the same db information you should be all set. The only thing Im not sure on is if I installed jasperserver to a new location, ie - not /opt/jasper... Hope this helps someone Mike
