3.6.1 upgrade how-to

I have installed 3.6.1, it did not notice my existing 3.6.0 install, did not ask to remove it and did not assume any of the existing configuration.  Is there a way to install iReport 3.6.1 that will assume all of the current config of the existing 3.6.0?  Especially the datasources.

A function to import the settings from a previous iReport istallation is in my roadmap.

For now you can try to copy the content of:

<user home>\.ireport\3.6.0\config\Preferences\com\jaspersoft

inside

<user home>\.ireport\3.6.1\config\Preferences\com\jaspersoft

I don't suggest you to copy the whole Preferences directory due to a change of version of the NetBeand platform on top of which iReport is built.

If you are interested only into the connections, consider to use the import/export tool in the connections dialog.
