Parameter is where x like $P

Using iReport 3.1.4 and trying to get a parameter to be entered as the value for a like statement in SQL.

So if the where statement is WHERE project.name like $P{proj_id}

How is this formatted.  The only thing I've seen close in searching for clues on this is '$P{proj_id}%'  but this didn't work and neither did any of the other myriad combinations I've tried.  So if anyone knows how this is supposed to be formatted I'd appreciate knowing as well.

Sure seemed like I tried that but I guess without the !.

 

A search doesn't reveal you post. What odd forum software this is. Have you noticed that if you do an advanced search it will show you posts in other forums but cannot take you there?
