sanybel
jasper reports 3.1.2 with poi 3.0.1 for Excel HELP!!!! I am having a problem generating excel reports with jasper reports 3.1.2 and poi 3.0.1-FINAL version. I have about 5000 rows of data. I am getting the following error message when I open up the generated Excel file: "Damage to the file was so extensive that repairs were not possible. Excel attempted to recover your formulas and values, but some data may have been lost or corrupted." and when the file opens I see that some of the data is corrupted. Should I be using some other version of JasperReports or POI? Please HELP!!!

sanybel
I switched to Jasper Reports 3.0 and POI 3.0. This combination seems to work so far.
riesvantwisk
Same problem here, I started to use JExcelApiExporter instead of using JRXlsExporter, for the same report I have some color problem (rather colors that shift to a different color) but currently my client reports that it works better. BTW: In open office I don't have any problems opening the reports. Ries

Teodor Danciu
Hi, Sorry for the late reply, but we finally got a hold of this problem and solved it.It was file size related and was affecting only the JRXlsExporter which created too much rich text.As you have found out for yourself, the problem was introduced in JR 3.1.0 and you could have used the JExcelApiExporter instead, which has similar capabilities. Two trackers were created for the problem and are now closed (#4202 and #4014). The fix will be part of the next release. Until the, you either try the SVN version or stick with the JExcelApiExporter. Thank you,Teodor
