Hi,

 

when exporting a report to XLS we get the following problem.

 

Numbers are always exported as String (see Line 622 JRXlsExporter.java). In Excel we must manually convert the columns to numbers to use the columns in forumulas.

In POI you can use setCellValue(double) to tell excel that this is a number.

My proposal know is the following:

Try to convert the text to Double, if this is ok then call

setCellValue(Double.doubleValue())

otherwise use the original method.

 

Am I on the right way?
